Yoga, breathing techniques, and
Mindfulness are all intrinsically linked, and the Seedlings app makes these
links seamlessly within all the activities, with the following benefits for your children:

Yoga – Children today live in a world with many stressful elements,
working parents, constant rushing around, academic testing and demands to
improve and succeed, video gaming and social media, all of which can have a
significant adverse effect on their wellbeing. Yoga can help to alleviate these
stresses and pressures, helping with overall physical and mental health. The
movements practiced in a yoga class are much more than simply stretching; they
encourage relaxation and body awareness, developing greater flexibility,
strengthening bones, and stimulating circulatory and immune systems.
Yoga teaches children to be present in the moment and helps with their emotional regulation, managing their anxiety, boosting their self-esteem, and improving concentration and memory.

Mindfulness – Mindfulness
helps children to deal with the world that surrounds them and their own
emotional responses to change, academic pressure, and the complexities of
relationships. Teaching mindfulness techniques to children gives them tools to
be used when they need to be calm, refocus and concentrate, especially during uncomfortable or challenging moments. Mindfulness helps to engage the
cortex, which is the part of the brain connected to speech, memory and which
controls the ability to perform higher thought and solve problems. Research
also shows that mindfulness training may improve social-emotional development,
improve memory and learning and help with interpersonal skills and conflict resolution.

Breathing - Teaching children to be more aware of their breathing enables
them to become more in control of their emotions and overall wellbeing. It also
improves many aspects of physical health and children can use deep breathing in
many situations, including; if they are feeling overwhelmed or anxious, to cope
with exam stress or general anxiety, or simply if they need to relax or go to
sleep or to calm their body after exercising, bedtime relaxation, exam stress or general anxiety.
